The December Auction at Anderson?s will be an eclectic mix of glass, Vienna bronzes and design greats.
50 items, lots include works from Murano greats such as Toso, Barovier, Poli and it even includes a boxed example of EGIDIO COSTANTINI ?Vennice for UNESCO? from 1991. Other glass lots include pieces from Isle of Wight studio, Loetz, ZBS and a contemporary piece from Christian Tortu.
The Vienna bronzes on offer are from the finest, Bruno Zach, Franz Bergmann and Fritz Bermann whose two bronze figures give us an incredible insight at the Hungarian K.u.K Hussars uniforms and apperances, cold painted in Vienna just before the outbreak of World War 1.
The design lots are dominated by Austrian designer and painter, Karl Auböck. We have nutcrackers, a bottle opener & bottle holders that are timeless and innovative in their design. Furthermore, we have an opener from designer Richard Rohac who learned his trade under the masterful, watchful eye of Karl Hagenauer.
Last but not at all least, what auction from Austria would be complete without a lot from the immortal Josef Hoffmann.We have a cranberry Ludwig Moser Vase designed by Hofmann which includes a faceted Moser ashtray in the same cranberry red glass.
